This site uses Google Analytics. There are no other tracking tools, no ads and no social media pixels.
No cookie is set without your consent. You can change your decision at the foot of this page, at any time.

Who handles the data
The controller is Dreamy Seaside, which runs this site and the apartment in Split.

What is collected
Until you agree, Google Analytics is loaded but may store nothing on your device. The visit is counted without cookies and without an identifier.
Once you agree, it records:
- a random number that tells your browser apart from others
- your IP address, shortened before Google stores it
- your device, operating system and browser
- the approximate city you are in
- the pages you opened
- the page you arrived from, if you followed a link
The first two entries in the table are set by Google. The third, ds-consent, holds your decision and exists whichever way you decided.
The ds-consent record needs no consent of its own, because it is strictly necessary for something you asked for: not being asked again on every page. Telling you about it is still required, so it is in the table.
We ask for no name, address or phone number anywhere on this site. There are no forms, and no bookings yet.
Why
Readership: how many people open these pages, where they come from, and what they read.
The Split guide and the places series take a long time to write. The numbers show which of them get read.
None of it is used for advertising. We build no visitor profiles and sell nothing on.
Legal basis
Consent. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), article 6(1)(a).
Analytics turns on only if you pressed Accept on the bar. If you pressed nothing it stays off, and the bar returns on your next visit.
The cookies need consent under the Croatian Electronic Communications Act as well, whether or not what they hold is personal data.
Who else sees it
Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. They are the processor and handle the data on our instructions.
Some of that processing happens in the United States. The transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google is certified.
The temperature in the page header is served from an address on this same domain. Our own server fetches the forecast, so your browser never talks to an outside service and no cookie is set.
Nobody else receives any of it.
How long it is kept
Fourteen months in Google Analytics, counted from your last visit. After that only totals remain, and a single visit can no longer be picked out of them.
The cookies on your device last 400 days.
The record of your decision is kept until you change it, and at most 400 days. The decision and the cookies it covers expire together.
You can delete the cookies yourself at any time, through your browser settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have it erased
- restrict how it is processed
- receive it in a portable form
- object to the processing
- withdraw consent at any time
A withdrawal applies from the moment you make it. What was collected while consent stood does not become unlawful.
Write to info@dreamyseaside.com and we answer within a month. Without the number from the _ga cookie we cannot find you in the statistics, because it is the only trace of you we hold.
Complaints
If you think something about this is wrong, tell us first at info@dreamyseaside.com.
You can also complain to the supervisory authority: Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka (AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia.
